Nova Comes to Connersville
In a major economic and environmental win for Connersville, Indiana, NOVA Chemicals and Novolex have officially opened the SYNDIGO1 mechanical recycling facility, transforming the local industrial landscape and advancing sustainable innovation. This 450,000-square-foot plant is one of the largest and most advanced plastic film recycling operations in the world, converting otherwise hard-to-recycle post-consumer plastic film into high-quality recycled polyethylene (rLLDPE) suitable for both food- and non-food-grade packaging.
Beyond its environmental benefits, the facility is already generating real economic activity in Fayette County. It has brought approximately 125 jobs to the region and is ramping up operations with three of its four production lines already running, aiming for full capacity by early 2026. The plant works with retailers and distribution partners to divert plastic film from landfills — processing hundreds of bales daily — and turning them into valuable recycled resins under the Syndigo brand. .
